Just thought I would write a quick post about teeth bleaching or whitening with Invisalign. You probably can’t tell from my previous photos, because, in truthfulness, I am embarrassed and only pick the best pictures, but my teeth are really quite yellow.
. Unfortunately, you have to do it before you get your buttons (attachments) on- so in my case (and I’m not sure if that is standard) within the first four weeks. For those of you who haven’t heard of attachments yet, stick around, because I’m sure you’ll be hearing me moan about them in the near future! In short, they are small blobs of a tooth coloured substance attached to your teeth to help give the Invisalign aligners more grip.

My orthodontist is
>Hi, do you happen to go to Dr. Brett Kerr? I’ve been shopping for Invisalign orthos these last few months, and he seems to be the best one out here in QLD. ~ Dican
>Hi there Dican, please email me at myhollywoodsmile@gmail.com and I’ll forward you the name of my orthodontist.
Thanks
>Oh, wow keep using what you are using! From the looks of it they are looking a lot whiter!!! Definitely don’t get the zoom like ur dentist suggested, because I have heard horrible things about zoom whitening. I was reading up on it, and it also has terrible reviews with people saying it was horribly painful: http://www.realself.com/Teeth-whitening/reviews
Awww… that’s so cute that your husband doesn’t like you to change things about yourself. He sounds like a keeper!
Anyway, ur teeth are looking good!!!
>Thank you! I think they are looking whiter- now, if I can only get them straighter as well!.. The zoom was also $400, so it would need to be a LOT better than the Nitewhite to be worthwhile. Thanks for the review website
>Thanks for the great tip! I will definitely do the home whitening thing when the process is over as I think my teeth suffer enough as they’re now with the Invisalign trays.
I heard that the home teeth whitening is more effective than the 1 hour teeth whitening in the long run, so save your $400! Money can be wisely spent elsewhere!
>Ur welcome, and I’m sure your teeth are going to become a lot straighter.
try using two consecutive nights of whitening then the next night get a sensitive toothpaste (sensodyne, colgate prorelief etc) and rub into teeth then place invisalign tray/whitening tray over, should help
and the zoom whitening process isnt painful its just the cheek retraction that can be a bit sore!
Hi!
I just got my aligners but right out of the gate I had 8 attachments put on. My ortho never told me to avoid whitening with them on so can you tell me what you’ve learned about it? I was genuinely hoping to whiten at some point but maybe it’s not in the cards for me?
Also, they never told me not to swim and I went swimming this past weekend and am going to Mexico this next week. I am not a huge swimmer although I enjoy a jump or tow occasionally. I don’t plan on opening my mouth underwater so maybe there’s little risk/issue for me??
Thanx for any insight you can offer!
